School 8/29/07

So we are into the swing of things with School. Mila's teachers name is Mrs. Miller and she is on the strick side of things, which is good. Mila is about to complete her 3rd week of school and we are doing pretty well. We had a few bumps last week where Mila had to pull a card for talking (wonder where she gets that from - DAVID!!). This week we have done much better. Mila is also catching up on her reading and writing, we practice every night and she is really getting the hang of it.

Soccer starts next week. David is the assistant coach and I am the team mom. Our team name is Flash and its for 1st and 2nd graders. Mila is really excited, as are we. It should be fun for all of us learning how to play. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mila wants to move over to softball next year because I know that sport much better - but whatever she wants to do we will learn to love it too.

Visit to Albuquerque 8/10/07

Below are some pictures of our trip to Albuquerque, and boy did we have fun! Mila had a great time swimming EVERY day. She wants us to move in with Grandma Pris so she can swim all the time, though I don't think she has ran that by Grandma Pris yet. We took Mila up the Mountain and on to the Tram, she was so excited as she has never see mountains, let alone go all the way to the top of them. Mila got tons of presents from everyone at my mom's work, which was so nice, we were barely able to fit everything in the car for the drive home.
David and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on the 10th. David bought me a beautiful pearl necklace and matching earrings. I have to say he did a great job on the gift this year! David and I also got to see some friends of ours, Tan and Joey and their darling kids. I can't believe how much we are all growing up ;-)
On our way home we stopped at Dorthy's house (from Wizard of Oz) and went on the yellow brick road. It was pretty neat, but we just missed Dorthy so we could only look around the outside. Though our trip was fun we are glad to get home and back into routine.

Can't believe its August 8/3/07

Not much to report since Mila's birthday. I had to go out of town for work, so David had to play Mr. Mom - and I must say he did a great job! Thank goodness we bought the "Grease" DVD - as Mila watched it probably 30 times while I was gone.

I had my first "What do I do?" moment with Mila earlier this week. As I was brushing her hair Tuesday morning I noticed her bangs looked a little funny. After taking a closer look I realized that a BIG chuck out of Mila's hair was gone!! Mila denied anything happened and I started to think I was losing it and there was never any hair there - finally after prodding and prying she admitted that she cut her bangs and threw the hair behind the couch!! Needless to say, scissor privileges have been revoked for now.

We are getting excited about our trip to Albuquerque next week! Mila can't wait, all she talks about is what we are going to do while we are there. We should have lots of fun! I'm looking forward to some down time from work, as this summer has been pretty stressful. David and I will celebrate our 5 year anniversary on the 10th and I think we may take advantage of Grandma Pris and Aunt Colleen and have them take care of Mila so we can do something nice.

Mila's missing bangs!
